Vintage Estate Sterling Marcasite Pin Broach with a bail to convert into a necklace. Beautiful little vintage piece! Stamped and tested 925 Solid Sterling Silver, in excellent condition rescued from the scrap man and his melting pot!
A good portion of my pieces are made from recycled and reclaimed materials, and in sourcing those materials I have befriended a local gentleman who sells me scrap metal to rework into my pieces.
Often while digging through his scrap piles, I find pieces that are mixed into the scrap lot, purchased for their metal weight, and in perfectly good, well-loved condition. I’m given the privilege of digging through the large lots and pulling out perfectly fine, once treasured pieces that I feel should be saved from being scrapped and melted down, deserving of a second chance at a new life! Most are vintage, some are handmade, and all are various sizes. I pull them out if they speak to me, take them home, clean and tighten them up! Most are one of a kind, and once they are gone, they’re gone.
